It was obviously Adele's year, and Bon Iver won too!

I did a pretty good job of picking if I do say so myself!

YEAH! That shit cray.

So, I guess when I saw WTT live in Vegas the reason they did this song at least 6 times (I lost count) was because they were trying to get as much footage as possible for this video? They played this song multiple times at several concerts...

I thought that maybe for this song that people are so obsessed with they would have made something different...but I accept it in my heart as is.

The concert was phenomenal. I do like the mirror effects, the video quality is super high def and crisp. I noticed that at the concert too, the 2 massive screens that Kanye & Jay would be projected on were very high def. This is better than a normal concert footage video, of course.

All of the lights man, all of the lights...That shit cray.

The new album "Something" by Chairlift upon first few listens is a keeper. I have been waiting to see if this follow up to "Does You Inspire You" would be worth the wait, and I think it is!

Apparently, Chairlift co-founders Aaron Pfenning and Caroline Polachek were dating and they broke up before the making of this album. I had noticed the absence of the ex-boyfriend's voice, and was happy about it. And I think Polachek and remaining Chairlifter Patrick Wimberly have come out on top.

They didn't remake "Does You Inspire You" they made "Something".

I like the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR...I haven't seen a show there, but I did stay at the Hotel that is part of it...cool place. I bet this show was really...Portlandish.

Tennis is coming here again in March and if I am in town I will go see them again. Alaina's voice is as pure LIVE as it sounds on record. I like that they describe themselves on their Facebook page as "minimalist pop". New Tennis record titled "Young & Old" out 2/14/12.

Hi. it's Tuesday. bleck.

There are not many things that are making me feel happy lately, but this album is one of them.

I have had "Delta" by Hyperpotamus on vinyl for a few weeks now, but I was able to download it on iTunes yesterday. Finally! I can listen to this album in my car where I spend a lot of time! I woke up with the song "Seahorse for Dragon" in my head and then I listened to it during my commute, see how that works? It's a beautiful thing.

When I bought the vinyl it came from the UK physically from Jorge R. Escudero! At least I think that it must have, there is a handwritten return address on the outside of the package. He is one of the people I would die to meet in person. Come to the US, or I will come to Europe, that sounds better.

This album was recorded LIVE in Asheville, NC. That is pretty badass. I like the idea of recording albums live, like Justin Townes Earle says, it's more realistic, more genuine, and holds up over time (hopefully). Obviously you can't use that process with all kinds of music, but this kind you can.

I think albums should sound more like a live show. It adds character to an album when there are noises or people talking in the background. For example, Jeff Buckley made Live at Sine, which is a recording of 2 shows he did there. You can hear plates banging around, people clapping, etc. It really for me gives an album more depth, imagining the actual room and the people playing together and maybe even the people watching.

Anyway... Look for "Nothing's Gonna Change The Way You Feel About Me Now", out 03.27 via Bloodshot Records.

I love me some Frank Ocean, he is coool. His talking voice is almost as sexy as his singing voice.

Nostalgia, Ultra was one of my favorite discoveries of 2011 (and it was FREE)! This guy has already been working with Nabil Elderkin, who is so talented and amazing. That shit cray.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't ruin Frank. He seems intelligent and level headed and driven and nice. Frank says he is feeling "mortal" lately, I like that, let's keep him that way.

I always thought this was the best song off Gnarls Barkley's first album. I can still relate to it, it's timeless. And although this song resonates with depression, I like this kind of Cee-Lo a little more. It seems more genuine and has more guts. Don't get me wrong, I liked his solo album, but it didn't grab me nearly as much as St. Elsewhere.

Towards the end the cameraman stays zoomed out because he is tired of watching David struggle with following the camera.

This concert hall looks so amazing.

Goddess in the flesh. I posted Turning Tables last week, but here is a couple of songs from the show.

Opening with Hometown Glory is a nice touch. This is beautifully filmed too.

I thought the lamps as stage decorations were badass when I saw Adele live, but the giant wall of lampshades behind her in this video is just awesome!

Samtastic! Review #1189: Bon Iver video for "Hinnom, TX"

If you are very careful, Bon Iver will become the soundtrack of your life. This video for Hinnom, TX, a song off the most recent Bon Iver album, is utter perfection. It's beautiful, simple, and focuses on the music. This is the kind of music that you listen to on road trips or driving or sitting around in your normal life and it makes whatever you are doing meaningful at that moment. That is how I feel about it anyway.

I also like Justin Vernon taking a page from the Kanye West book of How to Succeed... apparently with the new deluxe version of the album "Bon Iver" released tomorrow there will be a video accompaniment to each song? Kanye did it with the 30+ minute "Runaway" and TV On The Radio did it too with "Nine Types of Light".

I think having well done visual aids to an album is awesome, I hope more people do it in the future.
