This is another new Yeasayer song called "I Remember" and it's dope as hell. This video is not offcial in any way shape or form, but more interesting for listening than just some picture or something. You all should check out this album Odd Blood, coming out very soon! I highly recommend it for sure.

Samtastic! Review: Dessa - The Chaconne (Live on 89.3 The Current)
Wow! I have never heard of Dessa before, this is a performance on 89.3 The Current, with Jeremy Messersmith & Aby Wolf. I really like Jeremy, posted about him before. This vocal is really good.

Samtastic! Review: Contra by Vampire Weekend
This video for the song Cousins is ok, I like the song a lot. The album Contra as a whole is solid, some standouts in my opinion are the songs "California English", "Cousins", "Giving Up The Gun", "Diplomat's Son", and "I Think Ur A Contra". The writing is as good if not better than last time, still smart, witty and fun! If you liked them before I think you will like this album, check them out:

Samtastic! Review: Yeasayer's Odd Blood is brilliant
Ok, so I am not even sure how, let's call it MAGIC...but I got the new Yeasayer album "Odd Blood" today. IT IS BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EXPECTED. Some songs that, after 1 listen, are grabbing my ears and making them so happy are obviously Ambling Alp, I Remember, Love Me Girl and ONE...Wake up people! This is a good one, pay attention.
Check out this video below, jump to the 1:30 mark, of the song "I remember" from a few months back in Wisconsin!
I will be seeing them live here in ATL on 4/6/10!

Samtastic! Review: Lil Wayne's "On Fire"
I will admit I like this song. It has a very Prince feel to it. The video has it's moments. Has anyone seen that documentary "The Carter" about Lil Wayne? That looked interesting, and it's getting a straight to DVD release, I will have to find that one...

Samtastic! Review: 11th Dimension video from Julian Casablancas
So I love this song, 11th Dimension by Julian Casablancas, as I have said before. This video is a little bizarre, there are parts of it I really like, the bar scenes are kind of weird? I don't really get it, but maybe that sort of the point, I think the writing on the wall might be the only real message in here...

Samtastic! Review: Jay-Z's On to the Next One
Do we like this? Some parts of this are really interesting visually (I like the flaming basketballs, and the paint/milk coming out of the sneaker), but in my opinion as a whole it FAILS. This is not "the next one" so to speak...it's just weird.

Samtastic! Review: I heart Lady GaGa live...
Ok, so my brain is still melted from seeing Lady GaGa in Miami last night...it.was.fucking.nuts. That blue moon had something to do with the shit storm I got into after the show, but let's not dwell on that, we are here to talk about GaGa...
I ended up getting about 3 or 4 people from the front of the stage, paying to be on the floor was totally worth it. You would not believe all the physical fighting between all the queens on the floor to hold spots and protect your position down there. I mean I saw fist fights. One very nice gay man befriended me and we got pretty close to the front together, then he left at some point. Anyway, I feel like a show that crazy with the costumes and dancing and details gets lost past the floor. I mean I could see HER, she is gorgeous, ripped stockings, freckles and all. She doesn't sweat, at least not visibly, and I know these details may seem weird, but this is what I notice while I am watching a performance. Man, she is a goddamn great performer. The build ups and the cool downs are perfect in her show. And I got to see her perform Speechless, which is my all time favorite song of hers. She is just brilliant. What an amazing NYE.
This video below is not that good, and doesn't show the venue I was at, but I wanted to post something. This was taken at the LIV nightclub in the Fontainebleu hotel in Miami beach, after the concert I saw. I didn't have the $500 extra bucks to get a standing room only seat...
So anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is like my 435 post since 2007, so hoping to keep it going!
