Banksy: An Artist Unmasked
If you know who Banksy is, this will be interesting to you:
http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1825271,00.html?xid=rss-arts
Here is an excerpt:
"For years the graffiti artist known as Banksy has been the art world's Deep Throat: a hugely influential figure whose identity remained shrouded in mystery. Now, like Deep Throat, he has been given a name.
Banksy is a 34-year-old native of Bristol, England, named Robin Gunningham, Britain's the Mail on Sunday reported on July 13. The thread that may have unraveled the mystery was a 2004 photograph taken in Jamaica, which many — including photographer Peter Dean Rickards — say is the only known picture of Banksy. (The artist's agent, Steve Lazarides, denied that the photo — which depicts a man in jeans and sneakers crouching above a can of spray paint — is of Banksy. A spokeswoman for the artist declined to confirm or deny the Mail's report.) ..."
This would be pretty crazy if this guy really is him, but I think even if it is he would never admit it if they find him...the most amazing part about the Banksy legend is that no one knew who he was. That single fact made his art so much more amazing to me, because most artists have HUGE egos, and his art work is so STRONG, INTENSE, POLOTICAL and PROUD and he didn't need to take credit or fame for it.

Samtastic! Review: Thursday morning Playlist
Well, my morning tomorrow, Thursday, which is usually a lovely day for me, is going SUCK! I have to get up REALLY early, which I am NOT good at, and then go and do HARD labor (sorry for the caps). So I have decided to make a playlist:
1. Kate Nash - Dickhead: this song will allow me to be grumpy in the a.m. because I hate being awake, but it will make me smile because the lyrics are hillarious. This song is pretty much how I feel about my alarm clock. Plus it's a little slow and somber, so it will ease me into #2.
2. Kanye West - Good Morning: I know it probably seems odd that I want this one second, but if you know the song, you know it's a great pumper upper, I used to listen to this song ever day on my morning commute, and it always brightened it.
3. The B52's - Too Much to Think About: I am TOTALLY digging this NEW B52's album, the whole thing is pretty much awesome, very much comes from where they got their start musically, with a modern twist.
4. Tilly & the Wall - Beat Control: My Anthem of Summer, makes me so happy!
5. Cyndi Lauper - Good Enough: I am kind of obsessed with this song, don't even really care about the lyrics, it makes me long for youth and simplicity.
After this I should be good to go...

Radiohead, House of Cards
This video is pretty groundbreaking, as usual from Radiohead.

On another note...
I am feeling very inspired lately, by most things, but feel as though I can't focus enough to do anything with my energy. I have started studying for this test I have to take to go back to college, and it's harder than I thought it would be...not the information, but the mindset it takes to be disicplined and a student.
I guess that is why most people in this country, if they can afford to go to college at all are pre-programmed to go right after public school. Because going back is harder than just keeping going after 12 years.
I have a whole new outlook on my education now though. Like, I can actually see the point of it, and can see how I should go about kicking ass at learning...whereas before I was just doing it to get it over with.
So I am excited, not about math, but about doing well on my test regardless of the math part, ha ha. And I am excited to retrain my brain to learn something other than hearsay and internet mumbo jumbo.
Wish me luck.
