So I pre-downloaded 6 new Singles from the band The Hives...I know their Vini Vedi Vicious album was pretty awesome at the time. God, was that really the year 2000. They were sort of the begining of the revitilization of the more commercially PUNK sound, that now permeates everything from MAC ads to the Disney Channel...so these singles are just OK. Nothing to really go gaga over, they haven't stepped it up enough in my opinion to really be trend setting again. They are still seemingly only wearing Black & White, same stage antics, blah blah blah...I might skip the rest of this one when it comes out.
Check it out for yourself though, you might hear something I didn't...I am also a little obsessed with Kanye West right now, so that may have something to do with this review.

Samtastic! Review: Tiger Army
So, went to see Tiger Army last night here in ATL. We got there in time to see their 2nd opening band , which was called Street Dogs, hailing from Boston...I was worried when I found this out that their might be like crazy moshing with FSU members in the crowd, so I stayed in the back...but it was fairly mild in that respect, and this band seemed pretty positive. At the end of their set the lead singer dove into the crowd and they carried him all the way back to the merch/bar area...so I got to be upclose and personal, which was...neat.
And I must say I was impressed by Tiger Army. I thought that it would be a typical Rockabilly Oi'fest, but to me they are pretty upbeat...granted this was really my first experience with them...so you know take this with a grain of salt. The lead singer looks like he might be 12, and he sounds so sweet an innocent when speaking, but I am sure he is neither of these things. And the Upright base player wore sunglasses which I was stoked about, plus his bass is blue, which is always a plus. And I think because of the way the Masquerade is set up, I walked right past these guys onmy way to the bathroom and didn't even notice...oh well.
All in all, it was a better experience than I thought it would be. Just goes to show that I need to keep checking out new things all the time, suprises are everywhere.

Samtastic! Review: Radiohead: In Rainbows part 2
So I got my moneys' worth today when my DOWNLOAD version of the new Radiohead album showed up as a link in my email. Will be waiting awhile for the actual physical CD & VINYL which I paid so much money for.
Upon first listens, In Rainbows is very good...more upbeat than recent Radiohead ventures. There are some sweet parts, still has that overall Ethereal Thom Yorkeness to it. If you are looking for Pablo Honey, this isn't it...but it seems a little more coherent to me. It makes me happy that this band keeps making music.
Check it out for yourself if you like Radiohead, I think it's worth it, especially since you can name your own price.

Samtastic! Review: Radiohead : In Rainbows
This is the name of the new album from Radiohead. Which, might I add, I just paid an astronomical amount of money for without even hearing, because I wanted to physical actual real CD which also comes with vinyl straight from the UK...but I believe if you want to DOWNLOAD the album only you can pay whatever you'd like, really, they let you name the price...check it out.

I am sure it will be good, better than Thom Yorke's solo album, which was still better than most.
